For Austin-area veteran and longtime Austin FC supporter Andrew "A.J." Yowler, home has always been about taking care of his family. This year, Window Nation and Austin FC had the opportunity to return some of that care with a home window upgrade designed to make his family's home more comfortable for years to come.

A Nomination from the Heart
Victoria Yowler nominated her husband A.J. for the Window Nation Home Upgrade Sweepstakes, sharing the story of a husband and father who has consistently put the needs of his family ahead of his own.
"This was a way to take some of the heavy-lifting home chores off his plate and show that as a family, we appreciate him."
Like many homeowners, A.J. had been putting off necessary home improvements while prioritizing other financial responsibilities to help his family.
During the most recent winter, the Yowler's windows had become more than a cosmetic concern. Their windows made it difficult to keep the house comfortably warm for the family and contributed to higher heating costs.
"Every homeowner knows things stack up, but this really checked the box for him and fill a need for our family," says Victoria.
Turning a Win into a More Comfortable Home
After A.J. was selected as the winner, the Window Nation team got to work.
Through a partnership with Austin FC, Window Nation provided and installed new windows for the Yowler family at no cost, helping them address the challenges they were facing daily.
"In person, Window Nation made us feel like we were people. There was always a friendly face and a smile," says Victoria.
In addition to a houseful of new windows, A.J. and his family also received a special VIP experience at an Austin FC game, and the whole family got to meet Brad Stuver, Austin FC goalkeeper, on installation day.
For Window Nation, this project represents much more than a whole-home upgrade. This was an opportunity to make a meaningful difference for a local family in Austin, Texas.
"A.J. and Victoria have been wonderful to work with. During the course of this whole process, they've been so appreciative. Most importantly, this is a family that deserves this," says Steven Pekar, Window Nation sales manager.
With this window upgrade, the Yowler family can live more comfortably and feel more confident in their home.
Austin FC and Window Nation: More Than a Partnership

A.J.'s story brought those two goals together.
As a veteran and an original Austin FC season ticket holder, A.J. has deep ties to his family and the local Austin community.
A.J. first served as a medic in the National Guard before being stationed as an Army medic in Iraq and Germany. He grew up watching his father and grandparents serve, so joining the Army was always in the back of his head.
During active duty, A.J. played for an Army-based team, and his love for the game really grew. He later joined a co-ed competitive team in Austin - and that's where he and Victoria met; she played defense, and he played as a forward.
Fast forward to today, and the whole Yowler family loves to be a part of the soccer community Austin FC brings together.
"It's a big part of our identity, and it's fun seeing the kids growing up around soccer," says A.J.
As a veteran, father and dedicated Austin FC fan, A.J. has spent years showing up for the people and community around him. This installation gave us an opportunity to show up for him.
"I know there's a lot of worthy veterans out there. It's overwhelming, because being a veteran, you know the magnitude of what everyone's been through, but at the same time, I'm so very grateful, because it's going to impact our family."
