When Cancer Cancels A Window Replacement

Like thousands of customers every month, Ron and Barbara Oniszczak made an appointment for a consultation with our Nashville service team. They found windows they loved, and placed the order.

A few weeks later, Ron was calling our office to cancel the order. The windows had been built, were waiting in the warehouse, and were ready to install. Nonetheless, Ron was certain that he needed to cancel the order.

"Each time our team attempted to speak with Mr. Oniszczak to discuss next steps, the conversations had been extremely difficult," says Jake Stoltman, our Nashville Operations Manager.

Ron had good reason for the change of heart - his wife, Barbara, had just been diagnosed with cancer.

"It suddenly placed an overwhelming emotional and financial strain on their household," Stoltman continues. "It was evident that this was not a matter of buyer's remorse, but rather a family facing circumstances far beyond their control."

"It halted our dreams for what we wanted," says Barbara. "It really made us stop and think about what our next step had to be. How some of the plans that we had will not be fulfilled in the future, but taking it day by day."

After hearing what happened, Stoltman knew what to do. "I reached out to the Window Nation Cares program. This is exactly the type of situation where compassion and flexibility can make a meaningful difference, and where Window Nation's values truly stand out."

"It's the most generous gift I have ever received in my entire life," says Barbara. "You made our life happier because we could get what we needed. And if it wasn't for you, and your wonderful company, we wouldn't be able to have what we have today - beautiful windows."

Taking a moment to think further, Barbara shakes her head with a warm smile, "On a personal note, I've discovered how extremely generous people can be when you least expect it.
