GLEN BURNIE, MD (November 2, 2015) – Window Nation, one of the country’s leading replacement window companies, was named Dealer of the Year/Innovative Enterprise for its use of social media to help customers by Window & Door magazine. The prestigious awards program recognizes window and door retailers and distributors that demonstrate excellence in the areas of marketing, customer service, showroom design and community contributions.
The magazine specifically recognized Window Nation, who was also just named the 9th largest home improvement and home remodeling company in the U.S. via Remodeling magazine, for the way the company uses social to support its customers, from both a customer service standpoint as well as delivering content and ideas that adds a genuine value versus being more self-serving.
“It sounds cliché, but truly everything we do is about our customers – they are the cornerstone of all we do,” explains Harley Magden, co-founder and owner of Window Nation who founded the company with his brother Aaron. “For us, social media is basically a real-time focus group to what our customers think and need. We use their input to continually improve, to help solve challenges and ultimately, keep our relationship going long-tern by sharing information that matters to them, and isn’t just about us. When used properly, and on their terms, social media can genuinely do so much for a company like ours.”
Window Nation is active on Facebook, Twitter and Houzz, plus review sites like Angie’s List. The company works to make sure all comments, questions and concerns are addressed in as close to real-time as possible and that each customer receives a genuine response back. “It doesn’t do anybody any good to just have cookie-cutter responses,” adds Magden. “Instead, we personally review each engagement and work to support them however we can. And if it’s an error on our part, we view it as an opportunity, a teachable moment if you will, to see how we can improve. We are just a bit obsessed about customer service around here and social media is just one vehicle we use to help us continually improve and become the best company we can possibly be.”
We are honored to recognize the Dealers of the Year in Window & Door magazine,” says Emily Kay Thompson, editor. “The winners’ stories and achievements highlight the continued development and evolution of companies in the window and door supply chain.”
